WILLIAM FITZSIMMONS: Video zu „Hear Your Heart“

WILLIAM FITZSIMMONS

William sagt dazu: „“Hear Your Heart,” both the song and the video, is simply meant to address the question: “How long does the echo of those we have lost last?”  I remember being very affected the first time I read Poe’s “Tell Tale Heart.” Instead of being mortified by it, the idea that the dead can communicate with us from beyond the grave was somehow comforting. While Poe’s intent was meant to be one of warning, I wanted to apply the idea to a feeling of hope. A wish that perhaps regretted words spoken could be undone, or unsaid words could eventually be said. As we are drawn back into the memories of our dearly departed, in words and images, we imagine that perhaps there is a chance the lines of communication are not totally lost and may someday be reopened.“

William erklärt: „My father […] was adopted by a kind doctor who became his father. Never knowing his birth family it was assumed that mystery would always remain. In 2015, after over 60 years of wondering and waiting, the family was finally found. Having been mistakenly told that my father died in infancy, he was never sought out by the remainder of his biological family. Sadly his mother passed away several years before having a chance to ever see her son again. Her name was Thelma and she was my grandmother. She was from Charleroi, Pennsylvania. These songs are about her.“

Die beiden Minialben „Pittsburgh“ und „Charleroi: Pittsburgh Volume 2“ werden als „The Pittsburgh Collection“ am 01. April auch auf Vinyl erscheinen.
